Moments in Time

Things have been a little tough with the recent closure of our LSS. I was a little worried about sharing this news out here in the blog-o-sphere, in the fear that it may be seen as a bit over-dramatic, as I know many people face obstacles much, much more devastating than this.

For this reason, I was so humbled by the response from all of you....
I sincerely want to thank each and every one who took time to share their thoughts, prayers and kind words of encouragement. The past week has been filled with ups and downs...And your sweet comments and emails have meant so much to me, and to anyone affected by this sad news.

I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life, and especially thankful for all of you and your support!

I now want to move onto a project that I've been working on for a few days now...And the title is such a perfect reflection of what I've been feeling since all of this has happened.

It's funny how life eventually just turns into ...'Moments in Time'...Every memory you make eventually becomes the past and a reflection of a moment in time...
Some moments are great, some you can't forget fast enough...And other moments you just wish could last forever...

I guess the hardest part is learning to embrace the ever-changing nature of life and understand that with every new chapter, great things will come...

So here is a mini album, created with the YUMMIEST Webster's Pages goodies, celebrating moments in time :)

I used a combination of Ladies and Gents papers and embelishments and Country Estate papers...I first cut three sheets of white cardsock to measure 6x12 inches, scoring at the midway point, to create a 6x6 book. I layered the three sheets, lining up the score lines, and I attched them using some embroidery floss and a needle (I really gotta get me a sewing machine!)...After gluing down my base patterned paper on the cover, I glued white cotton seam binding around front and back covers of the book so that I could continue to build my layers on top and have a nice bow-tie closure for my book :)

The stamps shown here are by Inkadinkado, and the rose is by Prima. I used the Life's Portait collection (an older collectoion from Webster's Pages) to cut out the round frame, and then I layered my stamped image onto a beautiful turqoise paper from the new Country Estate collection by Webster's.

I used a journaling card (time. stands. still.) from the Ladies and Gents collection and a Melissa Frances resin key.

Oh if you're wondering- the album has no pics yet. It's an album I plan to fill over time with pictures that reflect milestone moments in my life :) I love having projects that are pre-made for me, and then I just simply add the photos when I find the ones that are the best fit.

I created a lil pocket using the teal paper and a cut out from a collage paper in the Ladies and Gents collection. The removeable picture tag features a Chipboard Button and some Fabric Ribbon from the Ladies and Gents collection. On the back of the picture tag is a journalling spot - great for some reminiscing :)

Here's a shot of the one side and how the flap looks when it's closed. I used another Chipboard Button here...And if you look closely, it's printed with the beautiful timepiece design to coordinate with the motifs in the collection! I {heart} these little buttons!
I used a journalling card (looooove how many totally awesome designs come in those little itty bitty journaling card sets!) as the base of this page and up above the flap, I used a bit of the Webster's Pages Spring Eyelet Trim, with a pretty green sparkler.

For this page, I did a lot of fussy cutting, getting lost in the stunning graphics of all the gorgeous Webster's Pages paper... Here's the paper I used...And as you can see, I've cut out many of the little timepieces and arranged them on these little pages.
The punch I used is my new fave...Abstract Flower by EK Success.

And here is the last spread...A few touches from older Webster's collections...Like the green rhinestone Sparkler, and filmstrip cut out from a Hollywood Vogue paper....

I used my fave alphas on here...Webster's Storytellers...

And a bit more stamping and punching. Filigree stamp by We Are Memory Keepers and Vintage Floral punch design by Martha Stewart.

Close-up of the page on the right, and a stamped image using the incredibly beautiful Happiness is...Stamp Set designed by Nina B. for The Craft's Meow.

A shot of the back of the mini, with more details using pretty paper from this amazing collection :)

  9. Read your post all the way through (which is something i rarely take the time to do) Some words of encouragement: We voluntarily "lost" our ONLY home about a year ago. We invested most of our retirement savings into it three years earlier. We would never have come close to selling it in the next 4 years, when my hubby retires. We have been renting a lovely home, but it's not ours. This last weekend we went "house shopping" and are looking at hopefully purchasing our final retirement house in the next 6 months. With the economy destroying us then, it will be our saving grace in the near future. I normally don't share such info, but your post was so touching and I felt you needed to hear from someone who's "been there". Keep the faith, and know that bad times always come before the best ones! Thinking of you.
