A Wee Donation & Week Update

~An Exciting Week~

Happy hump-day :)

I forgot to ask...Did you all enjoy the long weekend?

We decided to go home, and enjoyed some beautiful weather while visiting our parents.
We even found some time to visit an annual antique sale out in the country, and I am so tickled by the finds I picked up. My mind is already whirling with ideas of how to use my treasures in upcoming photo shoots.

We cut our weekend a little short, and came home a bit early, as there was so much on both of our to-do lists. And, as we pass mid-week, I am so excited...It has been such a busy one.
I feel that oftentimes, after a long weekend, there is so much catching up to do.

Between the housework I decided to put off, unpacking from a weekend away, tying up loose ends on several projects that have been sitting on my desk, and prepping for another photo shoot (which is tomorrow and I am super excited for it!), things have been a little neglected here on the good ole blog.

I quickly popped in yesterday to share the lovely creation Aneta sent my way, but realized, I had nothing of my own to share :(

So I spent a few quick minutes this morning finishing up this little donation prize, which I have made for my dear friend Cayla, as one of the prizes to be given away during her Burn Fund Crop.

I try to always donate a couple of packets of my handmade buttons to the local scrapbook fundraisers. I don't often have the time to go and participate, so this is a little way I like to support the local efforts, when I am unable to attend.

This time, I decided to create a little box to hold the handmade buttons, as well as a little packet of vintage buttons to match.

After molding the pink and aqua buttons, I mounted them on some Rustic Cream cardstock, which I stamped with Papertrey Ink's Button Boutique stamps in a soft beige color. I stamped a stitched line at the bottom as well as a second sentiment, in a teal color using more stamps from this set.

To decorate the little clear box (which I picked up at a local dollar store), I used some vintage pink lace, and layered a Prima aqua flower, as well as a lace flower I hand-made (using lace and PTI's Beautiful Blooms dies), and decorated the center with a stamped spool image, and a Melissa Frances keyhole.

To finish off the centerpiece, I added a pin and a tag from PTI's Tiny Tags, as well as a sentiment from PTI's Mini Blooms stamp set.

Although hard to see on here, I cut out a piece of the Prima packaging that the pretty aqua flower came on, and used the acrylic doily to add to the box, just above the lace trim.

I added a stamped and punched tag from Stampin' Up, which I tied to a painted wood clothespin.

For the little baggie of buttons, I used WPlus9's Vintage Envelope die, and filled it with a pretty assortment of pastel vintage buttons.

Today is one of my bestie's b-day, so we are planning a little outing tonight to celebrate. I thought I'd get my butt in gear and get this project finished off so I could pass it along to my friend, since she will also be at the celebration tonight.

I am so excited for the rest of the week to unfold, and before we know it, it will be Friday and I am very much looking forward to it, as hubby and I are off to explore another adventure, and I can only say that much for now. It will be my *first* time, so I will be back after the weekend to share all the deets.

If you feel up to it and have nothing better to do/want to win some buttons, leave me a comment with your guess as to what you think we might be doing! I'd love to send a pack of buttons to one of the lucky guessers! :)

Hope you enjoy this lovely day,

*Ivana*

p.s. Just a few snapshots from the antique sale...
