True Friends - Wonder Stix | Tutorial: How to Color Vellum

Welcome back! Today I'm sharing a super easy and quick little tag featuring Wonder Stix crayons.
I wanted to share this quick technique, because it's my most favorite way to use these pretty crayons.
I really do feel that they were made for vellum. The application is so dreamy and creamy, and I never have to worry about buckling, streaks, or color that doesn't look vibrant.

As you can see above, my favorite way to color vellum is from the back-side.
I started by embossing my favorite heart image, turning it over, and filling in with my favorite hues.

I love, love, love how saturated and vibrant the colors look! I decided to use this little vellum piece in a quick and easy tag so as not to distract from all the prettiness of the colorful heart.

TIP
If you're like me, you'll love all the pretty hues that come in the standard 24-pack of WS crayons. But form time to time, you might find that you're lacking a hue or two. I've recently picked up a NEW set of crayons from Neocolor, that are similar in properties to Wonder Stix (not quite as creamy but close), and offer a different range of hues, in primary and tertiary colors. I've linked them below, and I will be sharing a more in-depth post very soon! Stay tuned :)

To make my little base, I used dry-embossing to add two layers of hearts.

At the top of the tag, I added a button and some string. And at the bottom, I stamped one of my most favorite sentiments from this beautiful Altenew stamp set

Have you been playing with these!? I sure hope that if you are, you're having just as much fun :)

  2. So beautiful, Ivana! Love the white embossing & the dry embossed hearts which I would never have thought to do on a tag! I still haven't made it to Michaels, but hopefully I will when I get over this darn cold!

    1. Ugh, sorry to hear you're sick, dear! I hope you feel better really soon! Thank you so much for the sweet note and the hearts were a total accident! Sometimes I do such things, and it 'happily' all works out in the end :)
