Hello Friends!
It's been a while since I've done a 'double-take' post, so I thought I'd pop in with two card designs that are perfect for a quick switcheroo.
Both of my cards today feature heaps of goodies from The Stamp Market, and could be tailored to any occasion.
To start my cards, I used the super versatile Striped stamp set, which consists of four different stripe widths, for heaps of design options. I used the second thickest weight, and alternated the colors for a rainbow effect.
I find that this base is a perfect double-take foundation for cheery birthday, greeting or all-occasion cards! Stripes are a super classic element for just about any design, so if you're in the need for a variety of cards, why not start with stripes next time! For my first design using this cheery background, I incorporated a heap of greetings, using the Skinny Upper Alpha dies, which were blended with ombre ink, as well as a Scripty Sentiment heat-embossed on acetate and fussy cut.
I used the Hip Hip Hooray stamps and dies to cut out a few colorful balloons. I also made a couple tiny heart balloons using the Heaps of Hearts stamp and die set.
The tiny mailbox is a cute little extra with purchase, offered a little while back. But any cute image would do here..Because everything is more fun when tied off with a heaping of balloons ;)
For my second card, I used many of the same ingredients, but switched up the alignment, and a few little elements. I love how it changes the theme of the card instantly!
This is why I love double-takes so much :) It really pushes me to try using the same elements in different ways!
To adorn my balloons, as well as the rest of the card, I used gorgeous toppers from Trinity Stamps, including Something Borrowed pearls, Jelly Drop Hearts in Hint of Mint, Lemon Drop Dream, and Berry Blue. As if the hearts aren't already sweet, how dreamy are those names?!?
In place of my mailbox, I attached the balloons to a sweet gift and finished everything off with a flouncy bow and some paint speckles! The sentiments are all from the Hip Hip Hooray stamp and die sets.
Well that's it friends! I love this idea of taking a simple design and decking it out in different ways.
Do you like the idea of double-takes?
