Preview Day 2

~TCM Preview Day 2: Easter Blessings~

It's day two of the TCM February release previews, and I have a very fun card to share with you today.

I wanted to make something cheery and fun, to help me get out of this winter-funk that I've been in lately.

It's just like clockwork. Every year, around this time, I am ready for winter to be over and for the warmer weather to kick in. Sadly, that usually doesn't happen until much later in the season, and there are at least two more months of this weather to look forward to before the snow is gone and the temperatures are back in the positive territory.

So a cheery card seemed to be just the thing to cure my winter blues. Especially one celebrating Spring and Easter. It just so happened that I found the perfect stamp to use on this card, which is the set we are featuring today.

So here is a first look at the brand new upcoming set from TCM, Easter Blessings.

It has been a while since I have created a shaped card, and I thought it this scalloped circle would be a perfect compliment to the fun and playful colors and accents on this card.

For the base, I started out with white cardstock, onto which I traced a scalloped circle that I then hand-cut. I adhered tiny little punch outs to each scallop (these are left overs from the die-cut blue scalloped circle in the center of the card).

I then added dots and dashes to the card with a black pen, which is where I stamped my sentiment. In addition to being a design element, the lines help keep the stamped images straight, so this is a bonus.

I curved my stamp on the block until it seemed to fit the curvature of the card, and then I stamped the sentiment repeatedly until I made it all the way around the card.  I added a few little green hearts in between for a punch of color.

At the top, I added a colorful banner, cut out from some pretty Girls' Paperie papers that I've had for a while now.

I layered a white chipboard circle with a stamped yellow doily, a Prima resin bird, few fussy cut flowers, and plenty of vintage buttons.

I also added several buttons to the scallops of the card, and tucked in a few banners to either side of the bird/button embellishment.

That's all for the card, but as promised, here's another sneak peek photo of our little nephew :)

Wishing you all a lovely day!
