Papertrey File Cards

~Sweet New Baby Wishes~

This past Tuesday, we received news that our dear friends welcomed a new little bundle of joy into the world...And it`s a girl! Hubby and I are so happy she is here, and we are so excited for her proud parents. Their little boy is already so near and dear to our hearts, and we love him very much. He also happens to be one of the cutest little kiddos we know...Have you seen the maternity pictures I took of their sweet family? You can check them out right here :) Aren't those baby blues to die for?

With so many news of brand new little babies, I have been busily making a lot of goodies, especially baby girl cards...I can't think of a more precious creation to make, than that which celebrates a brand new little life.

For these two tags, I wanted to use a slightly different baby girl palette than the typical pink...So I used a combination of Spring Moss, Winter Wisteria and Spring Rain PTI inks. I have loved playing with the inks so much...And I have to say they really are quite lovely to use. I tend to have reservations about using dye ink, as the coverage can be really poor at times. I find PTI ink covers stamps quite nicely, and although the images are not as crisp as my favorite VersaMagic inks, the colors are a lot more saturated, and the crispness doesn't seem to bother me, because there is very minimal amount of blotchy spots, and compared to other dye inks (such as Tim Holtz Distress), they make a much nicer impression.

I started with a file tab cut out of Rustic White cardstock, which I stamped with three hearts on the side using the Purls of Wisdom stamp set, which I also used for the sentiment. I played a little with the Rosie Posie set and stamped my own pattern on a piece of cardstock, onto which I layered a strip of white cardstock, stamped with a thin chevron stamp.

I used a WPlus9 Quilt Cuts #1 die to cut out the pretty shape at the top of the card. I adhered the stamped pattern, sentiment and chevron border to the base, and then added the beautiful vintage baby, stamped and cut out of cardstock, and colored with Copics.

{I knew I had to pick up this stamp set (Kaisercraft Bundle of Joy) the second I saw it - Both of the images in the set instantly took me back to my childhood. So many of the illustrated books I read as a little girl had images such as these, and I just couldn't resist walking down memory lane.}

To finish the tag, I added another little sentiment using the Button Boutique set, and decorated the tab with a Winter Wisteria button along with some Rosie Posie leaves.

I started this next tag the same way, with a file card die-cut. I first stamped the lower portion of the file card with a pretty border, and the tab with a sentiment, in Spring Rain.

I stamped a piece of cardstock with 'You' from the Stitched Sentiments set, which I adhered to the base, with dimensional adhesive.

On the upper left corner, I added a Rosie Posie flower and some leaves, along with a couple of little thin leaf images from the Stitched Sentiments set, and Mini Blooms set.

I stamped two little hearts, also from Stitched Sentiments on the upper right corner, adding a couple of liquid pearls.

I stitched a button to the o, and just below that added another little sentiment from an older stamp set in my stash.

I die-cut a little heart and flower to layer together, from the Love Lives Here and Lovely Layers dies, and added another border across the file card.

Just as predicted, it's a snowy day today and I am longing for the sun once again...
I have to say though, your lovely comments always leave my day brightened and I am so thankful to read all of your kind words, especially on these cold and cloudy days.

Thanks so much visiting,

*Ivana*
