So Excited!

~Bon Voyage - Precious Remembrance and Maja Design~

Today's projects are very special to my heart. I have a soft spot for products that are crafted by small companies, especially because I understand the time, effort and love that is poured into every design.

One of these companies, is of course, Maja Design. The other, is a stamp company that I recently discovered and have loved ever since spotting the artwork of Andrea Budjack. And what's not to love? Lovely sentiments in my most favorite fonts...

It's not a surprise that I jumped at the chance when some happy news arrived in my inbox :)

Dyane, the owner of Precious Remembrance contacted me recently to see if I would be interested in doing a guest design feature. It has been such a long time since I have done a GD spot, but it was an instant yes and I have been waiting suuuuper patiently to announce the exciting news.

I am terribly excited share my creations with you for the next few weeks over at the PR blog, and I am here today to share my very first project with the brand new stamp set, Journey

I have two very fun projects to share today that feature these beautiful stamps and my very fave, Maja Design papers.

I started with a base of Maja Design paper (Vintage Spring Basics - 10th of March), followed by a soft yellow paper (Vintage Spring Basics - 3rd of March), both cut out by hand, using a traced shape from some of my favorite templates.

Over the two top layers, I added letter stickers (which have been sitting in a drawer in my room for so long that I no longer even remember what company they are from!), as well as bits of trim, a paper banner, a really big, vintage blue button and a tiny little scalloped circle, which is stamped with one of the sentiments in the stamp set. I slightly curled the "smile" stamp to follow the curve of the little doily circle.

For the focal point of the card, I stamped the "see you soon" bit using PTI's Winter Wisteria ink, along with another curved sentiment using PTI's Ripe Avocado ink. I cut and layered the two pieces together, and adhered them onto a scalloped circle die-cut, and assembled a collection of pretty little buttons around the pieces.

Before adding the focal piece to the card, I adhered several more layers of paper, including a darker purple paper from Maja Design (Vintage Spring Basics collection - 10th of April), as well as two layers of the ever so pretty lace borders cut using PTI's Filigree Border

For the next project, I used a WPlus9 die to create the little envelope, and stamped the little arrow border in a diagonal stripes, in various colors to create the pattern. I stamped one line with a juicy stamp, and the next line using the stamp-off method. This creates some lines that are more vivid, while others are slightly faded. I kind of like the look, although I believe I need to work on it a bit more to perfect it just a tad :)

I stamped the top of the seed packet with the sentiment, by it twice to create a bit of a distressed look. I rather like the more rugged look, perfect for a travel-ish touch.
I haven't put much thought into the purpose of this little packet, but I do think it would be a perfect accompaniment to the card, and could hold a travel gift voucher, maybe some pretty luggage tags, or other travel gear?

To decorate the side of the envelope, I used an Aqua Mist felt tag, stitched with embossing floss, and embellished with a scrunched ribbon, and an Ocean Tides button.

A teeny heart and liquid pearls finish off this little pocket.

I am so excited to have shared my first project with you using Precious Remembrance stamps and of course the very beautiful Maja Design paper.

To anyone enjoying their summer with some travels, I wish you 'Bon Voyage' and many exciting adventures.

xo,

*Ivana*

p.s. Stay tuned for my update post of what we did this past weekend AND for the announcement of the lucky-guess-ish winner!
