A Surprise Gift

~Sweet Baby Girl & A Sweet Little Gift~

Happy Monday :)
It's the first chance I've had to sit down and blog in a few days, and although I was hoping to share my felt coloring tutorial with you today, something took precedent.

Although I wanted to share this card with you right away, it could have waited until I shared my other post with you.
But what couldn't wait, was the story I just couldn't help but writing about as soon as I had a minute.
{Please Read Below for the Full Story as this card would have not been possible without someone's very special and incredibly thoughtful gift.)

I created this card using the adorable PTI Fruit Fusion Cherry stamps and Dies, along with the darling sentiments from PTI's Swet Baby Stamp Set, and Wonderful Words: Baby Mini Stamp set.

I stamped a light chevron background using a stamp from my stash, in Spring Rain ink. I then, stamped the cherry stem and leaves to the side, followed by stamping the leaves in Spring Moss ink.
Just below that, I added two die-cut cherries, stamped with Pure Poppy ink, as well as three little hearts above the little cherries.

To the side, I added a little pennant sentiment, stamped using the Sweet Baby stamp set. I layered the whole bit over a pretty Crate Paper tag, and onto the front of the card. Just below the tag, I stamped repeating words on the front and back part of the card, and finished the card off with a few liquid pearls.

You see, I have been eyeing these adorable little cherries for some time now, and this card would not be possible without my dear friend, Jill
Let me tell you about her thoughtful gift, and a wonderful surprise I received a few days back...

I was sipping my morning coffee, buried deep in some work, slightly feeling down as some very important stuff was piling up, as the grey clouds outside were piling up even thicker...

I took a little break and wandered to the mailbox, only to find a packet inside.
You see, it is not very often that this happens. The most exciting stuff always arrives via postman at the door, and the rest of the boring stuff (bills, junk mail, the occasional erroneous letter) find their way to us through our mailbox.

So you can imagine my surprise, when I saw a packet, that was none of those things.
Instead, it was a packet addressed to me.

Inside, I found this:

The sweetest, most wonderful little envelope, which I remember admiring on Jill's blog a few weeks ago. I can't tell you just how wonderful it was to see her beautiful creations in person. Look at all the details up close, and admire her talent...If you have not visited her blog, I really hope you will. JIll has one of the warmest hearts and kindest souls, and her creativity is endless!
I am so glad we connected through a mutual craty love of ours, Melissa Phillips

Anyway, getting back to the story....
Tucked inside the envelope, was the matching card, which I looooved at first sight when I saw it on Jill's blog. It was one of those cards that stays in your mind long after you've gone on with your day.
Do you ever feel that way about something you see that inspires you?

And as if that was not a beautiful enough surprise, inside the card, was a lovely stamp set and die, from Papertrey Ink, which I had admired for a very long time, and had only decided I must add it to my collection, once I saw Jill's beautiful creations a few weeks back.

She read my comment on her blog and sent this little birthday care pack my way.

I can't say for sure that I will ever be able to thank her enough for her thoughtful gesture, but I can certainly say that it warmed my heart to the moon and back and I am still reeling with that warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Jill, thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness, and for being such a dear friend.
You shine so much sun into my life and I am so grateful for that.

Love,

*Ivana*
