Thank You - Patchwork Card with Papertrey Ink and Wplus9

Happy Friday, Friends!
Today, I have double the reason to celebrate. Not only is the weekend here but we're also expecting temperatures in the mid 20's (that's about 75 F) throughout the weekend. That means Spring wardrobe, and if all goes well, time at the farmer's market and a stroll through beautiful Riversdale for all the foodie delights and fabulous boutiques.

I really ought to dedicate a post to our little city sometime soon. Perhaps even include a visitor's guide. For today, though, I'm just here to share a quick card.

I've been really drawn to playing with my dies in different ways lately. Trying to use more negative images, playing with paper piecing, and double matting some of my diecuts. Today's card features all of these little bits together. A patchwork of sorts, I guess you could say ;)

I stared this card with a white card base. At the top of the card I stamped three layers of bitty hearts using PTI's Background Basics: Hearts stamp (discontinued, similar here) in colors of Pale Peony, Vintage Jadeite, and Aqua Mist.

I added a scrunchy yellow bow to the top, along with two stitched buttons and a wee stamped leaf from PTI's The Best is Yet to Be (discontinued, similar here).

I added a couple of beautiful flowers, stamped with Gran's Garden from Papertrey Ink. I adore this sweet stamp set. Colors used are Pale Peony, Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, and Smokey Shadow.

For the patchwork flower, I used Wplus9's Quilt Cuts 1 die. I used several sorbet colored papers, as well as white cardstock, for the paper piecing, and then layered everything atop a petal circle from PTI's Limitless Layers: Circle collection.

I really should play more with paper piecing - it looks so darling and it's one of my favorite ways to dress up stamped and diecut accents. It's time consuming and requires a bit of patience, but the result is oh-so-worth-it!

For the hugs sentiment, I used the Big Hugs die and stamps, as well as some Lemon Tart ink from PTI. I double matted the word, by fussy cutting a slightly wider version of the die-cut. For the wee banner, I used the same stamp set, stamped in Spring Rain ink.

At the bottom, I used the Cover Plate: Hearts die to cut out a negative strip of hearts, as well as the Wonderful Words: Thank You die to cut out a vellum sentiment, which I accented with a Signo white gel pen. It's my most favoritest I've found to date - perfect, opaque coverage, and quite long lasting.

I added a little bit of polka dot fabric tape to the bottom, too.

Thanks for joining me today, friends!

Happy Weekend,

Ivana
