It's that time of year again..when knitted things are sneaking back into our wardrobe, and into our cards.
I made this little card with two wee mittens, as they remind me of the ones my grandma used to make for me as a child. Every Autumn she would knit a new set and I could hardly wait until there was snow on the ground so I could put them to use!
So, my teeny card today features two little mittens, a heap of hearts, a doily center, and a floral print decked in Autumnal hues.
I also added some vellum leaves from this Pinkfresh stamp set, and even though they are more reminiscent of tropical leaves, I love their wispy nature and how they add a sense of frosty-ness to the card.
I added fussy-cut florals to the mittens, just like the gorgeous embroidery my grandma would add to mine. She would always combine the lovliest colors and a myriad of florals and motifs..I would get so excited to see what new designs she dreamed up each year. My favorites always had a little something sparkly - sequins, rhinestones or a beautiful button. Some of which I still have to this day.
How fun it is to see things through a child's eyes and reminisce on old memories.
