Chance of Sprinkles - Pinkfresh Studio + Papertrey Ink

Birthdays are one of my favorite occasions to create for, yet when I need a birthday card,
I seem to never have one around..How can that be?
I guess it just means I need to make more ;)

This mile-high cake card was inspired by the wonderful Melissa P. who has always been among my favorite card designers. A while back she featured a stacked cake card using the Make a Wish stamp set, and I have been itching to give it a try ever since!

I started off by ink blending my background with Distress Oxide ink, and stamping up all the cake layers. Felt a little bit like a baker dying batter and cutting perfect spheres...It really did make me want to bake a cake! lol
After all my layers were assembled, I used the accents in the set to trim the cake, and the card.
I also added a lacy edger to the bottom of the card, as well as some sprinkles and a sentiment using the Blue Skies stamp set.

Have you  made (or baked) anything sweet lately?!
