Holiday Card Set #1 - Breaking the Mold - Christmas with Pinkfresh

Hello Friends!
Welcome to the second day of my mini-series, featuring my favorite ways to use the beautiful Holiday collection from PFS!

Both of today's cards were created using the Holiday Kit I shared in yesterday's post, as will be the cards I'm sharing in the rest of this mini-series, so it's a great place to start if you're just joining in!
I also have two more posts lined up, so be sure to swing by tomorrow and on Thursday for some more fun ideas!

Today's post is all about stepping outside the box - or in the case - the square card.
Whenever I'm feeling like my card routine could use a little spark, I have fun breaking the mold by creating a tuck card,  or a shaped card. So we are doing both today ;)

For my first project, I used the Cozy Christmas Wishes stamp to make my tuck card. This set is perfectly designed to fit a regular card front, but who says it can't be trimmed down and used as a mini card or tag background?! With a little bit of masking, colored heat-embossing, and just a wee bit of Copic action, it's an easy way to transform this beautiful stamp.

I really liked this idea of down-sizing a stamp, that I carried it through with the decoration of my little tag baggie, too!

I used the Merry Days stamp and die set, and trimmed down the tree shape so that it would fit onto the small glassine bag. I stamped the images onto the glassine, heat-embossing with a rose gold powder, and overlyaing the die-cut for a bit of texture. I added bits and pieces from the Layered Wreath die, using the berries as bits of snow.

For my next card, I used the shape of the Merry Days set to prompt my switch-up.
I decided on a shaped card, which couldn't be easier to make. I used the die-cut as my template, and traced an ever-so-slightly larger triangle onto my cardstock base, which I then cut with my trimmer.
I also ran it through my Big Shot with a scalloped die using the Simple Edgers design at the bottom.
I adhered the tree diecut, along with all the reserved little bits, and some sparkly sequins.
For the sentiment, I used the Cozy Christmas Wishes stamp and the Classic Holiday Words dies.

Such a fun way to play up on this shape.
I will be sharing more fun ideas tomorrow...Hope to see you here again!

  1. Phenomenal creations, Ivana! I adore your Christmas tree-shaped card - everyone needs a bit of peachy pink at Christmas!!! But, I see I've missed out by ignoring those tiny little snippet dies from the Layered Wreath set! Must remedy that soon! I have a gift card to use - I'm thinking of those sweet Holiday sentiments! Thanks for the inspiration today! xx

    1. Oh I'm glad you liked it, friend! It's hard to know what to share sometimes, and I wonder is it just a repeat of something else that's out there...But I try to stick to things that work for me and if it works for others, that's always a super wonderful thing! Sending hugs to you, dear!
