Shakers from Simple Shapes - Stretch Your Dies | The Stamp Market

Celebratory cards are some of my favorite!
Ones that rattle, shimmy and shake, and ones that brighten a day just by bursting with joyful colors . Today's cards are a little bit of both, but I am also sharing a super quick tip on how to use basic dies and stamps to make some cute shakers. Because everything about shaker cards makes me smile, and judging by their popularity, I'm not the only one!

Where the real fun begins, for me, is stretching my dies by using everyday, basic stamps and dies to create them. Here I've paired the Circles and Such stamps, along with the Nested Circles dies to make my own grid design, outlined by colorful stamps.

TIP
Start by stamping your design - it can be any shape (circle, hex, square) and it can be stamped in a grid like mine, or any other style using many colors, or just a single color. Using a coordinating smaller die, cut out the inner part of the designs. You can do them all, or just a few - it's up to you! Add acetate to the  back of your  base, along with foam adhesive and fill with shaker bits. If you want to go a step further, prior to adding adhesive and shaker bits, snazzle up the bottom base of your card! Line up stamps with your stamp positioning tool (such as I did with the striped circle), and stamp it up, or if it's easier, add a touch of patterned paper. This will create a background to your mini shakers, and add heaps of dimension!

I mean, how fun is that!? Taking a basic shape like a circle, and transforming it into an interactive design. I've accented the windows with a bit of floral goodness from the Citrus Vine set in coordinating colors.

My next card is low on the interactive level, but high in happy hues! I've used one of my fave sentiments sets to mask up a colorful greeting.

I also added a heaping of stripes - both to the card and the envelope. You can use the new Simply Stripes set for colorful lines, or the Striped stamp, for even speedier results if keeping your strips monotone. For the focal point, I used Birthday Balloons and  Stitched Heart dies.

A touch of paper, sequin and stamped confetti makes this card SO happy!
