Christmas with the July DOM - Spellbinders

My goodness, where does the time go? Is it really coming up on mid-August?

It feels like I've been away from the bloggy world for so long!
We took a wee break from everyday life, packed up the car and decided to explore the glorious mountains and West-coast..And I must say, it was the perfect time to do so with so much of the world off-limits. We loved every minute of our adventures, though we did get a little claustrophobic being in the car for so long! Let me tell you - Canada is one massive country! Beautiful, but incredibly vast and not for the faint-of-heart roadtripper :)
One other thing we did not expect, was such spotty wifi coverage! Even driving through Vancouver, our signal would fade in and out...I suppose it was meant to be - the break from our devices was much needed and so refreshing. And while I hoped to share some stories en route, I'm perfectly happy reminiscing after the fact ;) I hope to share some highlights over on insta soon!

Ok, it's time to get to the REAL reason I'm popping in today (aside from saying hi and that I've missed you!!!)  I was not able to get my Spellbinders DOM project up before we left so I wanted to share it with you before it's too late.

I love the August kit because it includes mandala-style elements that can be turned into so many shapes! You can see more of them here. I wasn't sure if I'd love it, but when I received it, I realized quickly just how many possibilities these dies have. I decided to use mine as Christmas ornaments, to kick off some early holiday cardmaking.

I used both the droplet dies, as well as the starry dies, along with some dotted stamping, and a whole heap of embellishing. I usually make one or two very fancy cards for the holidays, which get hand-delivered. It means I can get carried away with dimension without worrying about envelope fittings!

I also used the inner parts of the cuts, to decorate the corners of my card, and I stacked the two teardrop designs together for the central ornament. I can't wait to discover more fun ways to use this little kit!

Have you received yours yet? How will you use it? I'd love to know!

    1. Thank you so much, Nora! I love flouncy bows, but you know what? They are not as easy to store as I like. So I now save them for special cards :) Heaps of thanks for popping in and for the sweet note!

  3. Ivana, it's easy to say I've never seen a more gorgeous Christmas card in my life! One very worthy of that wonderful Christmas carol!
I missed you, but totally do understand the need to get away from it ALL! NEXT time we head West, we're jumping over that border to see more of Canada than Ontario! We loved Alberta, and I can't wait to visit Vancouver again!
