Slimline Cards - Two Takes | Pinkfresh Studio

Happy happy day, Lovelies!
I'm sharing some colorful florals over on the Pinkfresh blog today, featuring the new slimline dies - which just went live yesterday! The hop is still going strong, and you can still win the entire collection and other giveaways - just head over here to get started. If you already have these cuties on their way to you, I hope these ideas will inspire :)

For today's projects, I'm sharing two favorite dimensions of slimline cards. One that would be considered a more traditional - the super elongated card which coordinates perfectly with the 3 5/8 x 8 5/8 dies of the slimline release. And the other - a shorter version - which I tend to gravitate towards often.

First up, my shorter version, which is a great fit when you really want to add a sentiment strip at the bottom of a standard size card. I love this technique because it allows the background and focal point to to shine, and still provides enough space for some added accents or sentiments below. The dimensions I use are 4 x 7, but you can easily tailor this just a tad if you want to ensure your card will fit inside a specific envelope.

Here, I stamped up the Enchanted Blooms background, and watercolored the florals using my waterbrush +  Pinkfresh ink pads. I've linked up all of the hues below.

I added small blooms from the Partial Cut Bouquet die, snipping the individual petals to give the card a bit of dimension.

For my next card, I focused on the taller dimensions - 3 5/8 x 8 5/8 - which is a perfect match for the slimline die release showcased yesterday. I've paired three of the sets here - the Slim Stitched Scallop Circles Panel with the Slim Edgers for the white base, and I also used the Slim Lacy Edgers to add a little excitement to the sides of the card :)

I used gorgeous Pinkfresh hues to ink blend the base, and added mini Leafy Wreaths, accented by some left-over blooms from the Partial-Cut Bouquet cuts.

I've had heaps of fun stepping outside the box of standard dimensions, and I hope it inspires you to give it a whirl, if you're new to the slimline world!

  4. These are all kinds of fabulous!!! I especially love the slimliner border die that you used on the second card. It reminds me a lot of eyelet lace (which I adore).
