~Spring, Spring...Where Art Thou?~
You know something is up as soon as I start getting poetic....And usually it is a manner of expressing my woes. Right now, woes for warmer weather, that is.
So I am back again with a few Spring projects, in hopes that it will lift my (and your) spirits wherever you may be, but especially if you suffer in these long and cold winters, as I do.
Yesterday, I posted some Mom's Day cards I had created with these same papers and embellies. But I wanted to make sure I made at least one general purpose card, as I think these colors are so fun and cheery and should be shared with others, too!
This card uses the same Maja Design paper, as well as a generous serving of lace and layers.
The top part of the card is decorated with a hand-dyed ribbon, felt heart, an embossed vellum doily (don't you just love how delicate it looks?!?!) and a glittered button.
Just below that, I layered a hand stamped banner along with another vellum and button embellishment, and a row of little felt hearts. I couldn't resist stamping some more of the pretty flowers onto cardstock, and adding a few liquid pearls.
For this next project, I wanted to create another little felt baggie with the bits I had remaining.
So I made a tag first, and then a little baggie for it to be safely tucked into.
For the tag, I used a TCM frame stamp, this Spellbinders die, and flowers die-cut using this Papertrey Ink die.
I added a couple of sugared buttons, and then decorated the felt pocket with the same ingredients.
I had a teensy strip of the floral paper left over, so I used a quarter-foil die and added the strip to the bottom of the baggie. A row of felt hearts, a couple of vellum flowers and glittered buttons, and voila, a quick and completely unique card to gift away to someone special!
I couldn't just stop at one...So I created one in more feminine colors, as well.
I used a lace covered piece of peach felt, a die-cut piece of cardstock (stamped with the flower motif), and an adorable little felt pinwheel! It was so easy to make, too.
I got to thinking about the little die from Stampin' Up I had shared a few posts ago...And my only dislike about this die was that it had a really hard time cutting through thicker materials, like felt. So, I decided to not go with it...Instead I did a bit of research to find another (metal) die, that could do the job. I found plenty of options, but not a single one that was the same miniature size....
Until...I realized that each pinwheel was just a simple square, with four slits leading to the center. So I tried one using a pinked piece of felt, and voila! So easy!
Then I found this tutorial by Ashley Cannon Newell, which is a fantastic video that shows you how simple it is to make one of these little beauties.
Hope you'll give them a try!
Until next time,
*Ivana*
p.s. Like the glittered buttons, vellum embellies, fabric and lace felt you see on these projects? I made sure to make *a few* extras just for you :)
Your attention to detail is amazing. Ivana you design and create such amazing cards. Thanks for the inspiration.
