~Love Is Wherever You Are~
It is not that often that I venture outside of my card-making comfort zone, so when we worked on the current issue of PaperHaus magazine and talked about doing special anniversary projects to share with our readers, I loved the idea.
It got me thinking outside of the box. I wanted to create something to commemorate the wonderful milestone, with a special feature that I could hang in my home, or display in my crafty space for inspiration.
I found a pretty little heart plaque, and the ideas started whirling.
After gathering up some supplies, I knew exactly what I wanted to make. A shabby, distressed, soft decorated heart hanging that I would be happy to look at, or share with someone special.
{If you would like a full supply list, please check out the current PaperHaus issue.}
To start, I painted the heart with a very soft shade of pink. It just a shade darker than a plain white and I quite like how it gives the heart a romantic feel. I used a Copic marker to color the edges of the heart and to create a bit of distressing. I used a dark brown color...I just can't seem to recall the name at the moment. I am sure that any marker or ink would do just fine, though.
Before I added anything to the heart, I stamped a sentiment along the bottom left edge of the heart, and then started piling on all sorts of pretty textures and little bits I had lying about.
I added a soft yellow Prima flower, a little stamped and die-cut house using Papertrey's Love Lives Here set, a pretty Heart Border using this die, and little scraps of pretty fabric and burlap.
I used the In Stitches banner die to stamp the sentiment on, and the Doily Details die to cut the doily border.
Of course, no shabby, vintage creation would be complete without some lace, so I added a sprinkle of it just for good measure.
I really hope to make more of these little pieces, maybe in different shapes, and maybe one for each of the four seasons :)
Just a quick post today, but I thought I would share this creation with you as for the next little while, my blogging might be slightly indisposed.
Everything in my beloved scrapbook room just got packed up into boxes over the weekend - as our renos continue - and things may stay this way for the unforeseeable future.
Thanks for joining me today and I wish you a beautiful rest of the week!

p.s. Heaps of thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi during our PaperHaus blog hop and to each and every one of you for the beautiful anniversary wishes!! Oh and big, big thank you for the tips regarding the pretty tape measure trim! :)
