I am so, so excited to share today's card. It's inspired by my biggest supporter, and my dearest friend...My sweet momma.
If you've had the chance to meet my mumsie, you will know she radiates happiness and joy. And in a way, I think this card captures her essence. Beautiful, vibrant, joyful, and full of life.
She also happens to love florals and girly things just as much as I do, so when I saw the beautiful Hanging Florals stamp set, I knew I had to use it to make my mom's special card. With her birthday just around the corner, and Mother's day coming up, the timing couldn't be more perfect.
I also think this card happens to have a very English Garden/English Cottage sort of a look to it, which just so happens to fit in perfectly with the theme I used for this month's 'Anything Goes' Pinkfresh Studio challenge. I hope it might inspire some crafting of your own and perhaps an entry or two ;)
Although this card may look complicated, it really is quite simple to pull together. I started by stamping the Hanging Florals design on each side of the card, to create a floral oval. I only inked up enough of the stamp to fit the dimensions of my card, and chose to leave out the extra bits that would make it a hanging wreath design. I heat-embossed everything in white, and then used some Prismacolor pencils to color everything in. I've really been enjoying the ease and portability of coloring pencils. Have you had a chance to try them out?
I felt that the edges looked a little bare, so I used the Beautiful You die to cut out some additional leaves, in various shades of green. I adhered them around the edges, cutting off any excess bits.
In the center of the card, I used the You've Got This set to stamp my sentiment.
I added a frilly bow, some buttons, sequins and a textured heart, to finish things off.
I loved making this card, but in a way, I sort of think it made itself! I cannot wait to share it with my mom :) Thank you all for tuning in.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lisa! You are way too kind, dear friend! xoxo
DeleteI don't have good colored pencils since I really can't color, but should try again with what I have. Your mom is going to adore your work of love, Ivana! The little heart with the prills is the perfect embellishment! PS--I finally got to order a PF die when I used a gc at Dies R Us & can't wait to get it!
ReplyDeleteGreta, I know what you mean! I shied away from them for a long time because coloring can be so intimidating! But then I remembered how much I loved to do it when I was little girl...Even if it's not artsy, or extraordinary, I just adore how it takes me back to my childhood :) Thanks so much for your sweetness, friend! xo p.s. I can't wait to see how you use your PF die!
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous colors and design Ivana.
ReplyDeleteHugs Diane
