Hello Friends!
How are you all on this fine day? Have you been enjoying Summer?
One thing that always, always bring to mind warm Summertime thoughts, is fresh strawberries!
It just so happens to also be one of the beautiful designs my friend, Alex, released in her latest digi stamp collection. You can find it, and many of her other stunning designs, here.
If you've never worked with digi stamps, it couldn't be easier. Simply print, color, and enjoy!
However, choosing a suitable color medium does require a bit of know-how. Printer ink can bleed when mixed with specific color mediums, such as water-based mediums (watercolors, Zig markers, etc). For best results, Copic and other alcohol markers (or any other solvent-based ink) will work wonders! Coloring pencils work really well, too.
To make my card today, I simply printed the strawberry border (I mean, how cute is it?!) and colored it up with Copic hues. You don't have to be a coloring expert, either. A simple color wash brings these images to life!
To finish things off, I stamped a little sentiment and added some marker dots. In retrospect, I wish I would have used a sturdier stamping paper, as opposed to a simple stock paper. You can see that even though the Coloring turned out ok, the stamped bit is a tad blotchy. If your printer can work with stamping cardstock, do, by all means, use it.
Have you played with digital stamps yet? I sure hope you check out Alex's gorgeous shoppe and try a few of her designs! They are far more economical (and space-friendly) than the traditional kind ;)
Much love to you sweet Friends and thank you for visiting today!
What a pretty digi image! I like that you made it your own with your signature soft coloring. Just fabulous, Ivana!
