Happy Birthday - The Stamp Market + Wonder Stix | Adding Color to Dry Embossing

Do you ever feel the urge to pull out past favorites and let your imagination play?
I was rifling through some color mediums a little while back, realizing I had completely forgotten about my beloved Wonder Stix! And that I had a few more Neocolor pastel hues I had yet to give a whirl.

I also stumbled across this gorgeous Park Lane embossing folder (with the large Birthday font) and I thought the two would make a smashing pair! Pleased to say, I think they groove quite well together.

To start my card today, I used the beautiful Pinkfresh Studio Classic Edgers to cut the scallops at the top of the card, and the Lacey Edgers die to cut the scallops at the bottom.  I then ran my card through with an embossing folder to impress the large greeting.

At the top of the card, I added some leafy accents and a few little gummy hearts from Trinity Stamps.

To color in my embossed letters, I used my favorite Wonder Stix, along with a few other Neocolor pastel hues. I love, love, love using these for coloring in embossed details! The creaminess of the crayons makes them perfect for covering any raised details. I also love how vibrant the colors are and how evenly they coat cardstock. Here, I used a rainbow of hues, for each letter, and also added some color to the other fonts.

At the bottom of the card, I used some florals from the Southern Summer Florals stamp and die set, and larger leaves from the Petal Patch stamp and die.

Have you played with any fun products lately? Perhaps some that have been forgotten about but still loved dearly?

  2. Hello Ivana, Just popping in to comment on this gorgeous vibrant card!! I have been playing with the Wonder Stix a bit; mostly on plexiglass! [used for a washable reminder board (like a chalkboard . . ) But have not used them in the craft room very much :/ I am taking a double-look at how beautifully you were able to color onto the embossed word!! It looks like you stamped the color on - it is so even! I am inspired to give it a whirl : ) Beautifully done friend! Hugs, karen o
