Falala - Queen & Co, Altenew + Lawn Fawn | What To Do with Shaker Leftovers

Hello everyone! Have you had a good week so far? We've had nothing but beautiful blue skies and balmy temperatures. It's so rare to have these plus temps at this time of year, especially with no wind in sight. It reminds me of just how beautiful Winter can be! The squeaky sounds of snow under your boots, the stillness all around, the sparkling snow crystals in the cool sun, and everything covered in a crisp, white blanket....It really is a magical sight. And we are trying to take full advantage. Feeling a little bit better over the last couple of days, we packed up and delivered our annual Christmas cookies, and got to share in some Holiday hugs with our close friends, all while not freezing our behinds! What a wonderful way to start the countdown to Christmas!

I'm making the most of a few more crafty shares before then. I finally pulled out my sweet Q+C Merry & Bright Ornament Shaker kit to play a little more. I really love this little kit. I've just noticed that it's all sold out, but if you were one of the lucky ones to swoop it up, I hope this will inspire some ways to use up all the leftover bits. If you don't have this kit, this technique is super easy to duplicate with some fun foam and these fabulous adhesive sheets. You can then cut out any die shape you have and basically create the same effect!

To start my card today, I used Altenew's Peony Bouquet stamps for the background.
*This set is part of a huge stamping sale over at SB.com today, so hurry and grab yours before it's over!*

For the center of the card, I used a nesting oval diecut and inked up the scalloped portion only. I then stamped the same little berries and leaves onto the oval center, and added my sparkly, glitter-rific ornament! I love using up these little foamies - which are leftover after you assemble all of your shakers from the Merry & Bright Ornament kit

To dress mine today, I used a glitter technique that I've been playing with a fair bit lately. I dipped one of the sticky sides of the foam into a mixture of Prills, tiny sequins, and glass glitter, and then to secure everything in place, I coated the whole ornament in a glitter glue. For the topper, I added a string and button.

TIP
You can easily coat your glitter with a clear sealant or one that is slightly tinted. But for festive cards, this sparkly coat is just the right touch!

I thought a repeating sentiment would be so sweet, so I added this lovely Lawn Fawn die-cut to the background. I also added a few sparkly PPP jewels.

Thanks for joining me today, friends!
