Thank You - Playing with Texture and Layers | The Stamp Market + Simon Says Stamp

Every so often, it's fun to infuse a little fairytale whimsy. Especially when it will make the sweetest little girl I know smile from ear to ear.
That's a pretty fabulous reason to go all out, wouldn't you say?

To start things off, I stenciled a molding paste background, and it's such a throwback technique for me! When I first had the idea to use this technique (like, circa 2006), there was no such thing as an art molding paste - at least not one I liked for paper use - and I resorted to using what we had on hand - wall mud! Just imagine putty knives, and tubes upon tubes of spackling hanging out on my crafty shelves...You wouldn't be quite sure if  you walked into a papercraft room or a woodworking studio! lol
I cannot tell you how glad I was when it became a thing.
These days, I rely on Golden Molding Paste and I love it. Here, I've used a few drops of TSM's color crush re-inkers to dye things up a tad, and once dry, I cut out the shaker window.

I then lined my window with a dotty heat-embossed acetate, and added some foam adhesive and Crystal Confetti to finish off the shaker. For the toppings, I used the leaf die-cut from the Small Peony dies, sentiment from the Lots of Thanks set, and some shabby bows and buttons.

It's always fun bringing out the old techniques and playing with layers and texture. I can hardly wait for my little buddy to see this - she is a lover of all things pastel, shimmery, shak-y and whimsical!

Wishing you a happy day, Lovelies!

    1. Thank you sweetie!! Michele, would you believe I've had this same pot of paste for over two years?! It's one of the reasons Golden is my go-to. Don't know if it's the packaging, or the product itself, but it's the only I'll buy nowadays!
